Final Rule on Seller Funded Down Payments Published Yesterday

Attached is information from the Federal Register in regards to F.H.A. Down Payment Assistance.  Basically it details that many of the down payment assistance programs for F.H.A. loans are terminated as of October 1, 2007.

However, I have been told by many of my trusted lending partners that 100% financing programs are still available! CHFA, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are still available to assist buyers in getting into a home without a down payment.

Shelly, You are correct about the usage of the seller funded Down Payment Assistance programs except that a 6 month exception was given to the Nehemiah program. That is being contested but for now it is still available. I personally prefer the CHFA program as a great way for buyers, first time or not< to get a good, safe, 100% program.
