Just a few words about the changing mortgage loan market and lenders:
There are some loan officers in the area that are telling people that FHA has eliminated the down payment assistance programs. This is VERY misleading. First, this is a proposal from July 2007 and is not current. FHA has NOT eliminated the DPA programs yet but they are considering it.
A lot of loan officers are pushing the CHFA loan because it offers 100% financing help but they don't tell you the negatives of this program. During these changing times, it's imperative that you are working with a Certified Mortgage Planner that has your best interest, not their own.
